LOVE PEOPLE!

so I have put together all the facts and have come to the conclusion that i have been "let go" from my job because of my sexual orientation...I just spoke to my old chef ( who was fired a week before myself) and he said that the restaurant owner has had it in for me since the moment he found out I was queer and couldnt lay me off because my chef would not let him.....i wish that i had more physical proof...because then i could do somthing about it!

I am sorry about the random non food related rant...but i think this does affect everyone...not that everyone is queer but everyone has the right to not be discriminated against! And i think this is somthing that affects the Restaurant industry alot! I am in a state of shock right now and i really dont know what to think....i probably shouldnt be because anger is clouding my thoughts and they are not rational....any thoughts....ideas??

I dont get why people cant just support love

again sorry about the non food related rant!

Inspiration

I cant take credit for the idea of my blog. I must give credit where credit is due and Mrs. Julie Powell has given me this inspiration. I have been working in the food industry for the past 8 years and been through chef school and absolutly love what I do. I am currently working as head pastry chef at a fine italian restaurant in Toronto Cananda, as well as a butcher at one of the worlds best markets also in my home town of Toronto.

As much as I love what I do for a living I also feel like I have hit a slump and need some inspiration to kick me in the ass and remind me why I chose food to be my life in the first place. the one person who I have been watching and reading and learning from since i was 10 years old besides my oma is Jamie Oliver. I love his home style cooking and his attitude towards food!

I am going to cook my way throught Jamies first cook book that I ever owned...The Naked Chef, and probably work my way through his others as well! I am going to try and post pics of everything i make as well and please feel free to comment i always love constructive critisism:)

So here it goes, my new years challange,in writing and now I must follow through :) see you all January First :)
